    29 states – The Indian Kitchen is a contemporary restaurant offering a distinctive dining experience to satisfy all aspects of Indian cuisine, complimenting wine selection, exceptional service and electrifying ambiance.

    Our menu is prudently designed to offer the diversity of India, immersed in the classics while offering the presence of modernity. Alongside the classic drinks selections, we are offering a signature cocktail menu featuring unusual combination inspired by various Indian flavors.


    ChefJaswant Mehra

    Executive Chef/ Director

    Born and brought up in Gwalior , India , Jaswant grew up surrounded by family who were passionate about food. Jaswant’s brings in the wealth of experience and has worked with well known hospitality business like Jaypee Agrah, Taj Hotel, Holiday Inn , Radisson BLU to name a few. He was appointed as a food production lecturer at the hotel and carting management school in Chandigarh , India. He is certified chef in structure from American Hotel and Lodging. He has also worked as a Head chef at the Agrah Head office in UK.

    Jaswant Mehra has been a celebrity chef in India who has featured in more than 300 episodes on local television shows. He has an immense experience in Indian cuisine. He specializes in modern technique and always strives to bring the best of his experience and has featured in events with well-known chefs naming James Martin and Kenny Atkinson. He has hosted and featured in numerous cooking demonstration shows in UK and shared his experience and passion of food with food lovers



    Head of Operations / Director
    Graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University, Arpit Arora came to UK 10 years ago with a passion to build a career in the hospitality industry. He has worked in many well-known brands like Taj Hotels, Radisson BLU, Principle Hayley to name a few. He brings in many years of his experience in Front of house operation and believes that he can pursue his passion of food by introducing best of Indian cuisine in York. Arpit’s passion is to lead by an example from the front, demonstrating high standards of welcome and service to the guest.



    Head of Sales & Marketing/ Director
    Naiya will be overseeing the administration of 29 states-The Indian Kitchen, also responsible for marketing, public relations and press enquiries. She is very passionate about customer service and brings in a bubbly, fun loving environment to the team and the guest. She is passionate about nurturing everyone along and help to make 29 States a very special place for the team and our customer from around the world.
